RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) will introduce biometric attendance system in its offices and has started computerising the data of its employees.

The RCB spokesman, Qaisar Mehmood, confirmed to Dawn that the civic body had started computerising the data of as many as 3,013 employees of the RCB.

So far, it has computerised data of 2,975 employees, he said.

He said that the process would be completed by the end of this month and the biometric attendance system would be introduced in a month or two.

He said all contract and permanent employees would use new attendance system.

He said that after completing the process, the employees will be given cards carrying their names, designation, department, basic pay scale and employees number.

He said it would help in maintaining record of absent employees.
