ISLAMABAD: The possibilities of further economic collaboration between Pakistan and China came up for discussion when the 11-member Chinese economic and technical study team meat the Deputy chief of the Planning Commission, Mr. M.M. Ahmad, here this morning [Sept 17].

The discussion which was a follow-up of the talks the Deputy Chairman had in Peking last December lasted for about an hour.

Mr. M.M. Ahmad told the visiting Chinese team that in the selection of the projects, proposed to be financed out of Chinese credit, we have been careful to suggest such projects which would help Pakistan to achieve self-reliance. These projects, he said, would be fully integrated in the Fourth Five-Year Plan, whose basic theme would be self-reliant economy.

Several development projects in both Wings of the country are under consideration of the visiting Chinese teams. These projects are mainly in the field of basic industries. The team will be spending three months in Pakistan to carry out economic and technical feasibility studies of these projects.
