KALAYA: Four members of a family were killed when roof of their house collapsed in Dopki area of Orakzai tribal district here on Sunday.

According to reports, four inmates were buried alive when roof of their house caved in due to downpour in Dopki village of Yakh Kandaw area early on Sunday morning. The victims included two children.

The area people rushed to the site of the incident and retrieved the bodies from the rubble. Later, a Rescue 1122 team also reached the spot to participate in the rescue work.

The deceased were identified as Ajmir, Amna Bibi, four-year-old Ayan and two-month-old Suleman.

Moving scenes were witnessed when four coffins were lifted from one house for burial. A large number of people participated in the funeral prayers. The victims were laid to rest in their ancestral graveyard later in the day.
