LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has granted party ticket to business tycoon Humayun Akhtar Khan to contest by-election from NA-131, the seat vacated by Prime Minister Imran Khan. Mr Khan will be contesting against PML-N stalwart Khawaja Saad Rafique

Starting his politics with PML-N, Humayun Akhtar remained federal minister during the Musharraf rule before joining the PML-N again. He did file papers for NA-131 for the July 25 general election but withdrew in favour of Imran Khan and joined the PTI.

For NA-124, the PTI has granted party ticket to Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan to contest by-election against PML-N leaders and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

It is also learnt that the party has granted ticket to Ali Nawaz Awan to contest election from NA-53, a seat vacated by PM Imran Khan.

The selected candidates will receive their tickets from the party chairman in Islamabad on Friday (today).
