ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is removing encroachments from across the city.

The CDA had recently conducted a successful grand operation for clearing Kashmir Highway’s right of way in G-12. It has stopped that operation and on Wednesday started a series of small operations in various areas.

The Enforcement Directorate and the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) conducted a joint operation in Faizabad against Al-Makkah Coach and demolished four rooms, two canteen cabins, two ticket counters and a shed.

Another operation was conducted at plot no-12, F-7/2, Rana Market. According to CDA spokesperson Syed Safdar, this operation was conducted on the indication of the Building Control Directorate. An un-authorised platform, un-authorised construction on the rear and northern sides as well as on the top floor, an illegally erected fence and other fixtures on CDA’s land were also removed.

The Enforcement Directorate demolished an illegally constructed buffalo’s shed in F-11/3 as well as two rooms. The animals were given into the custody of the Environment Wing.

The CDA spokesperson said the grand operation has been stopped due to Muharram and that the routine operations will continue.
