‘American blood’

Published September 11, 2018

THIS is with reference to the article ‘American blood’ by Muhammad Ali Siddiqi (Sept 4). The article saddened me very deeply. It says that America is spilling its own blood to deliver Afghanistan to India. What a grotesque piece of imagination this, OMG!

If, for a moment, I have to agree with the writer, then will it be right to presume that through our Rao Anwars we are killing Pakhtuns to deny India what it so evilly is trying to manipulate and get by spilling American blood? Does the writer in all seriousness believe that this is what all that is about the bloodshed in Afghanistan and nothing more than that?

Does the author also honestly think that Pakhtunistan — to which he disparaging refers as a ‘bogey’ — an Indian design or conspiracy, and thus all those Pakhtuns (including of course Bacha Khan), who may have liked the idea or contributed to its attainment in some way, are or were doing so on the prodding of India?
