KHUZDAR: Balochistan Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Mohammad Saleh Bhootani has said that a new local bodies system will be introduced for devolution of power at grassroots level to provide relief to the masses at their doorsteps.

Speaking at a public gathering in the industrial town of Hub on Sunday, he said devolution of power is the government’s vision and soon the new local bodies system would be introduced in the province.

A large number of people, including councilors of Hub and Sakran and chairman of Gadani Municipal Committee Abdul Hameed were also present on the occasion.

Mr Bhootani thanked the people of Lasbela for reposing confidence in him in the election and assured that he would make all possible efforts to resolve the problems being faced by them.

He said that Lasbela district was part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor route and the government wanted to construct a route which would help in the development of the area and benefit the industrial town of Hub. “We will ensure transparency in preparation of feasibility of the mega project and would not allow any ignorance in this regard,” Mr Bhootani announced and said that work on Hub Bypass would be started after payment of compensation to the owners of land acquired by the government for the project.

The minister said that the development package for the costal line of Gadani would be announced soon and all promises he had made in his election campaign would be fulfilled soon. He said that the process of the upgradation of schools would be started soon, while every union council would have girls and boys high school.
