MUZAFFARABAD: A man was injured in Nadheri village after Indian troops fired a rocket on Monday on civilian population, residents and officials said.

“Indian troops fired a rocket on civilian population in Nadheri village, leaving a man seriously wounded,” a police official told Dawn from the area.

The village is located in Goi sector of Kotli district. The victim was identified as 43-year-old Muhammad Siddique.

Kotli District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital superintendent Dr Tariq Mahmood told Dawn that the victim had lost his one hand while his other hand and face were badly wounded in the attack.

The victim was later taken to CMH Rawalpindi for better treatment.
