LAHORE: The Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has become the first healthcare institution in the public sector to get exemption from payment of sales tax on gas and electricity bills.
The departments concerned have issued notifications in this regard, said LGH/Amiruddin Medical College Principal Prof Muhammad Tayyab on Monday.
The principal said the exemption would help the administration save Rs6m per month and the amount would be utilised for the provision of facilities to the patients and their attendants.
Prof Tayyab said efforts would continue to make the LGH a model healthcare institution.
