LAHORE: Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday announced launching a full-fledged campaign against encroachments and land grabbers focussing on the elite and the influential at the outset. All those involved in encroachments and land grabbing will be brought to book without any discrimination.

The direction to remove encroachments and retrieve land was given by Prime Minister Imran Khan in a meeting with the chief minister and cabinet members.

The prime minister had also ordered removal of barricades causing hurdles in smooth flow of people’s movement.

The chief minister said the Punjab government was also determined to curb the menace of corruption and every penny of public money would be safeguarded and used in a most judicious and transparent manner for the welfare of public. “Merit, transparency and rule of law will be our line of action,” he said.
