PESHAWAR: Two police constables who had lost their limbs in separate incidents of bomb blasts about eight years ago returned to their duties and have been posted at police stations close to their homes.

A spokesperson for the city police identified the two constables as Syed Ali Shah and Shah Saud who had received serious injuries in two bomb blasts. He said on Tuesday that city police chief Qazi Jamilur Rehman had met the cops at their residences on the eve of Eid and ordered their posting at police station near their homes.

The spokesperson said that the cops themselves told the police chief that they wanted to be assigned duties.

Head constable Syed Ali Shah had lost his both legs in 2009 blast outside a police installation at the Swati Gate area of the city. He is a resident of Bara Gate and has been posted at the Gulberg police station.

Constable Shah Saud had lost a leg in 2010 blast in the limits of Pishtakhara police station. He is a resident of Faqirabad locality and has been posted at the Faqirabad DSP office. Police vehicles would also be provided for pick and drop to these cops. Mr Rehman appreciated morale of the cops.
