ABBOTTABAD: The residents of Sagana area of union council Nagri Tutial staged a protest demonstration in front of government primary school here on Friday against shortage of teachers.

According to a press release, parents of students shouted slogans against the district education officer for turning a blind eye to the issue.

The protesters said on the occasion that there were only two teachers for 160 students of the school.

They added that four months back one of the teachers, Wajid, was temporarily transferred by the DEO to another school but so far he has not been shifted back.

The protesters said that the students of three classes could not get education for the last four months due the teachers’ shortage.

Repeated requests have been made for return of the above-mentioned teacher to the primary school but to no avail, they added.

They demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and education minister to take notice of the issue and order necessary action so that the students could continue their studies.
