PESHAWAR: An 11-member Pakistan squash team left for the forthcoming 18th Asian Games to be staged from Aug 18 to Sept 2 in Jakarta.

Game Development Officer of the Pakistan Squash Federation, Flt Lt. Aamir Iqbal on Friday said that the team departed from Lahore to take part in the forthcoming Asian Games. Pakistani players would take part in both men and women individual as well as team events.

Before departure for participation in the event, the selected players were provided rigorous training at Pakistan National Squash Academy, Islamabad to extract better results, he added.

He said the team comprising Group Captain Tahir Sultan (manager), Fazal Shah and Mohammad Naeem (coaches) and players including Tayyab Aslam, Ammad Fareed, Israr Ahmed, Mohammad Asim Khan, Madina Zafar, Faiza Zafar, Riffat Khan and Amna Fayyaz.

The squash events are scheduled from August 23 to September 1 in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia.
