RANGERS have been involved in operations against criminal elements in Karachi and Sindh. Their operations against individuals involved in corruption and crimes from various political parties deserve to be welcomed.
After more than three decades of violence, the MQM has been ‘tamed’ after an operation against its members involved in serious crimes. It has now disintegrated into various factions.
Then we also saw action by Rangers against the PPP and we will see arrests and more ‘revelations’ about crimes by key political figures.
There have also been several cases of corruption against PPP leader Sharjeel Memon, including water supply through illegal hydrants.
But I wonder if there will be an inquiry by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) into the water supply scheme run by Rangers in Karachi for the last several years.
I wonder will NAB probe into how much amount Rangers earned through this ‘scheme’ and on what basis. As far as I remember, Rangers were not called up by civil administration in the 1990s to earn money by supplying water in Karachi.
