LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has notified 74 candidates for the seats reserved for women and non-Muslims in the Punjab Assembly.

Of 66 women candidates, 33 belonged to the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and 30 to the PML-N. The PML-Q has got two women reserved seats while the PPP could get one woman seat. Of all the nominated women, 37 belong to Lahore.

Of eight non-Muslim seats in the Punjab Assembly, the PTI and PML-N have secured four seats each.

According to the notification, the women candidates of PTI are: Dr Yasmin Rashid, Sadiqa Sahibdad Khan, Shamsa Ali, Nasrin Tariq, Shawana Bashir, Shamim Aftab, Firdous Rana, Shahida Ahmed, Sumaira Ahmed, Syeda Zahra Naqvi, Aysha Iqbal, Neelum Hayat Malik, Umul Banin Ali, Uzma Kardar, Mussarat Jamshed, Saadia Sohail Rana, Rashida Khanam, Farhat Farooq, Shaheen Raza, Talat Fatemeh Naqvi, Shaheena Karim, Asia Amjad, Seemabia Tahir, Momina Waheed, Aisha Nawaz, Zainab Umair, Farah Agha, Syeda Farah Azmi, Sajida Begum, Sajida Yousaf, Shabeen Gul Khan, Sabrina Javaid and Abida Bibi.

The PML-N’s women candidates for reserved seats are: Zakia Khan, Mehwish Sultana, Azma Zahid Bokhari, Ishrat Ashraf, Sadia Nadeem Malik, Hina Pervaiz Butt, Sania Ashiq Jabeen, Tahia Noon, Uswah Aftab, Saba Sadiq, Kanwal Pervaiz Chaudhry, Gulnaz Shahzadi, Rabia Nusrat, Haseena Begum, Rahat Afza, Munira Yamin Satti, Rukhsana Kausar, Salma Saadia Taimoor, Khalida Mansoor, Rabia Ahmed Butt, Rabia Naseem Farooqi, Faiza Mushtaq, Bushra Anjum Butt, Syeda Uzma Qadri, Sumera Komal, Raheela Naeem, Sunbal Malik Hussain, Aneeza Fatima, Nafisa Ameen and Zaib-un-Nisa.

The PML-Q has Baasima Chaudhry and Khadija Umer while the PPPP bagged one seat for its candidate, Shazia Abid.

NON-MUSLIMS: The ECP notified eight non-Muslim candidates four each for the PTI and PML-N. The PTI’s candidates are: Haroon Imran Gill, Ijaz Masih, Mahindar Pall Singh and Peter Gill.

The PML-N’s candidates are: Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Joyce Rufin Julius, Munir Masih Khokhar and Tariq Masih Gill.
