KARACHI: Over one hundred boys and girls participated in the Dr Mohammad Ali Shah summer basketball camp which concluded here at the Arambagh courts on Sunday.

The camp was organized by Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) where coaches and experts including former international player and camp commandant Abdul Nasir alongwith his assistants Mumtaz Ahmed, Ashraf Yayha, Zahid Malik and Zainul Abedeen imparted lectures about techniques and finer points of the game to youngsters in the camp.

Former Test spinner and chief selector Iqbal Qasim was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed the prizes among the participants.

Speaking on the occasion, Iqbal praised Dr Shah and his family for their tremendous contribution for sports as well as KBBA for organizing regular camps.

“Such camps and courses always help players to improve their game and, through guidance by the experts, they go on to win laurels for their country,” said Iqbal.

Later, Iqbal and KBBA president Ghulam Mohammad distributed playing kits among the participants.
