CHITRAL: Three children of Gufti village of Garam Chashma drowned in a pond near Lotkoh River here on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Huma, Naeema and Razia, who were studying in the village school in class 6.

Local people said that they were swimming in the pond on the riverbank when one of them drifted to the deep water and started drowning.

The villagers said that in the desperate bid to save their friend, the other two also drowned.
