LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday disposed of a petition seeking protection for former police inspector Abid Hussain alias Abid Boxer after he appeared before the court.

Jafar Rafi, father-in-law of Hussain, had filed a petition seeking protection for his son in-law. He alleged that police could kill Hussain in a fake encounter.

Justice Muhammad Anwarul Haq disposed of the petition following Hussain’s appearance.

Talking to reporters, the former cop said he had secured bail in all the cases lodged against him. He vowed to prove his innocence before court.
