SIALKOT: Police claimed on Thursday to have arrested the presiding officer of Mianapura who allegedly took the results of voting to his home instead of submitting these at the office of the district returning officer.

DRO Ali Zulqernain Awan ordered police to arrest Muhammad Tahir when he reached his office to submit the results of NA-73, Sialkot-II. The DRO said the presiding officer employed delaying tactics in submission of the polling station results, casting doubts about transparency of the vote count.

Police sent the suspect behind the bars after registering a case against him.
