PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has warned to expel its dissident workers if they don’t stop supporting rival candidates within 20 hours.

Addressing a news conference here on Thursday, PTI district president Syed Ishtiaq Urmar said that many workers of his party were annoyed over distribution of tickets for polls.

However, he said that allotment of tickets to candidates was the decision of the central leadership and parliamentary board of the party and the district organisation had no role in it.

He said that PTI workers would have no room in the party if they did not stop working against their candidates.

Mr Urmar said that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was using mosques for his political motives.

He added that worship places should not be used for politics and negative propaganda to damage others.

Meanwhile, PTI candidate for PK-73 Taimoor Jhagra on the occasion announced to sue JUI-F leader Maulana Amanullah Haqqani for issuing ‘baseless’ statements to media regarding his dual nationality. He said that his rival candidate Maulana Amanullah Haqqani was spreading rumours about him to create doubts in the mind of voters and damage his position in the elections.

Mr Jhagra rejected the allegations regarding his dual nationality, saying he was businessman and had to visit England. He said that it did not mean that he had dual citizenship.

“I am a Pakistani and have no other nationality of any country but owing to my business, I often visit England,” he said he while showing to media his green passport with valid visa from 2015 to 2025.
