KARACHI, Jan 9: The Pakistan People’s Party has expressed concern over internal and external threats to the country and demanded of the government to take former prime minister Benazir Bhutto into confidence to pull out Pakistan from the present crisis.

The demand was made by coordination committee of the party, which met at the Bilawal House on Wednesday to review the overall situation in the country with particular reference to tension on the borders.

The meeting, presided over by PPP vice-chairman Makhdoom Amin Faheem and attended by Nisar Ahmad Khuhro, Nawab Yusuf Talpur, Prof ND Khan, Taj Haider, Naheed Khan and Munawwar Hussain Suhrawardi, was of the view that Pakistan stood isolated due to the non-existence of an elected government in the country.

It recalled that in 1993, Pakistan was about to be declared a terrorists country but the efforts of Ms Bhutto had succeeded in projecting Pakistan as a democratic and progressive country.
