KARACHI, June 2: The Sindh Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, Dr Sohrab Sarki, said Islam was the only religion, which had given maximum respect to mothers, quoting the Holy Prophet (SAW) that ‘Paradise rests under the feet of the mother’.

He said this at a seminar on the UN Mother’s Day at a local hotel on Thursday, organized by an NGO, ‘Women Help Welfare Association’.

The minister said the new generation should realize the role of mothers, adding that it was our responsibility to take care of our parents, their health, and attend to them devotedly in their old age.

Dr Sohrab said the new generation should also be informed about sacrifices rendered by a mother, and her utmost contribution with regard to teaching their children in shaping them into responsible citizens.

Event manager Dr Sughra Naz said the event was organized to recognize efforts of mothers for their children to lead a successful life.
