KOHAT: Reduction in transportation charges of poultry products by Rs200 per maund on Friday provided a total relief of Rs13 per kilogramme to the customers.

The poultry association and transporters have cut the price and charges by Rs8 and Rs5 per kilogramme, respectively. Earlier, the poultry association had cited the huge transportation charges of brining chickens from Punjab of Rs600 per maund as a major factor in high prices.

Following reduction of chicken prices by Rs8 per kilogramme by the poultry association, the transporters also decreased their charges by Rs5 per kilogramme at a meeting with the district administration here on Friday.

The poultry association at a meeting with assistant commissioner Gul Bano had reduced the chicken price by Rs8 per kg on Thursday.

The total reduction after cut in transportation charges comes to Rs13 per kilogramme on all poultry products.
