Popsicle sticks, as I told you before, are useful in making crafts. So after you have filled your tummy with your favourite cold treat, always wash and store it for later use if you are a fan of making the crafts.

So girls, if you love bracelets, then today’s gadget is for you and it is made out of Popsicle sticks! It will hardly cost you anything to make this craft because most of you may already have the supplies needed at home.

Things you need

  1. Popsicle sticks (as many as you want)

  2. A glass

  3. Water or acrylic colours

  4. Paint brush

  5. Pencil

  6. Scissors

  7. Colourful yarn

  8. Shinny tapes

Directions

Note: Popsicle sticks in their original shape do not bend, so to do some magic that would bend the sticks, you have to soak them in boiling water and for that you must take help from an elder!

  1. Put the Popsicle sticks in the boiling water for 30 minutes, picture 2.

  2. Ask an elder to take them out with kitchen tongs. They will immediately come to the normal temperature, so don’t worry and from here you can take control of your craft.

  3. Start bending them gently, be very slow because you will break them in two if you rush, picture 3.

  4. Slowly and gently push the sticks into the glass, pictures 4 and 5.

  5. Allow them to take the circular shape for about 24 hours. After this time, you will be surprised to see them perfectly bent, picture 6.

  6. Draw designs with a pencil if you want to use watercolours on it, picture

7, 8 and 9. Don’t use marker as it will smudge on the stick.

  1. You can also use shinny tape as in pictures 10 and 11.

  2. If you are using yarn, make sure to tie and glue the ends, and roll it over on the stick, picture 12, 13 and 14.

The bracelets are too easy to create and when worn, they look straight out of a smart accessory shop!
