GILGIT: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar will visit Gilgit-Baltistan on July 13.

According to a press release issued by the vice-chairman GB Bar Council Javed Ahmed, the CJP will arrive in Gilgit on July 13 on a two-day visit, on an invitation by the bar council.

During the visit, the CJP will attend All Pakistan Inter Provincial Bar Conference titled ‘ensuring easy and speedy justice to litigants in GB’.

The conference will also be attended by vice-chairmen of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, AJK, Islamabad and GB bar councils.

The release said GB lawyers, jurists and general publichad high hopes on the visit of the CJP that he would make efforts for realising their due political and constitutional rights.

Meanwhile, talking to mediapersons, the GB Bar Council vice chairman said first time in the history of the region any sitting Chief Justice of Pakistan was visiting the GB. He said the CJP’s visit would help improve capability and quality ofjudicial system in GB.

Meanwhile, heads of Gilgit, Hunza, Nagar and Skardu bar associations, at a meeting on Tuesday, decided to arrange a warm welcome on the arrival of the CJP in Gilgit. They expressed the hope that the visit would remove sense of deprivation among the GB people.
