TIMERGARA: The students of private educational institutions grabbed top positions in the secondary school certificate annual examination, 2018, conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand Chakdara.
The board announced the results during a function on Monday. Manahil Noor of the Superior Lalazar Public School, Thana Malakand, and Shahan Khan of the FC Public School, Balambat shared the first position by securing 1,041 marks each.
The FG Public School, Batkhela’s student Mohammad Siraj bagged 1,039 marks and stood second, while Superior Lalazar Public School, Thana’s Laiba Iqbal obtained 1,038 marks and got third position.
The BISE Malakand controller of examinations Prof Jamil Ahmad while announcing the results said a total of 88,623 candidates appeared in the examinations, out of which, 58,213 were declared successful and the overall result remained 65 per cent. A total of 45,685 students appeared in grade-IX examination, out of which, 23, 156 were successful with the 50 per cent result percentage.
He said of the total 35,057 candidates appeared in grade-X, 42,938 passed the examination and the result remained at 81 per cent. In humanities group, Sadaf Bibi of government girls high school, Sher Khani Lower Dir, got 931 marks and stood first, Madeeha Gul of government girls high school, Sundal Upper Dir, grabbed 924 marks and stood second, while Farmana Bibi, a private candidate from Lower Dir, stood third with 923 marks.
The board chairman Hanifullah and Lower Dir District Education Officer Dr Hafiz Mohammad Ibrahim distributed shields and medals among the position holding students.
