LAHORE: Nine people were injured, two of them critically, after the roof of hotel at Saggian Bridge near Begumkot caved in on Thursday.

The incident occurred due to dilapidated condition of the roof of the hotel, police said. They said more than a dozen people, mostly customers, were in the hotel when its roof caved in as a result of which nine people were trapped under the debris.

Rescue 1122 teams shifted the injured to hospital where the condition of two of them was stated to be serious.

ACCIDENT: A young motorcyclist was run over and killed by a tractor-trolley at Badami Bagh on Thursday.

Bilal, 22, a resident of Shalimar Town, was going to market when a tractor-trolley hit his motorcycle. Bilal suffered injuries and was taken to hospital where he breathed his last. Police arrested the tractor-trolley driver.
