TAXILA: The nomination papers of former interior minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan for Taxila NA-63 (Rawalpindi- VII)were accepted on Wednesday as returning officer rejected objections raised by his arch rival PTI vice president Ghulam Sarwar Khan.

Ch Nisar Ali Khan had filed his nomination papers as independent candidate after his differences with party leadership appeared over ticket issue as Mr Khan refused to apply for ticket and appear before a party board.

On the other hand, Rawalpindi district PML-N President Sardar Mumtaz Khan filed nomination papers against him and PTI candidate Ghulam Sarwar Khan.

Ch Nisar Ali Khan had submitted nomination papers for two national and two provincial assembly seats.

Returning officer Tahir Abbass Sipra, additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday accepted the nomination papers of Ch Nisar Ali Khan for NA-63 (Rawalpindi- VII).

Earlier the RO had issued notices to 17 candidates for NA-63 for scrutiny of their nomination papers.

In NA-63, the PML-N has divided in two groups, one is led by Ch Nisar Ali Khan and the other by Rawalpindi district PML-N President Sardar Mumtaz Khan.
