BATTAGRAM: The Battagram district administration on Tuesday launched the online verification of stamp papers.
A ceremony to this effect was held at the deputy commissioner office chaired by deputy commissioner Syed Mohammad Farul Saqlain.
On the occasion, Mr Saqlain said Battagram was the first district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to have launched the e-verification of stamp papers.
He said the process would help stop selling of illegal and back-dated stamp papers in the district.
The people can now verify the stamp paper by sending an SMS to 8583 by writing ‘STAMP
Mr Saqlain said the system would verify those stamp papers which were issued on or after March 16, 2018.
Only those stamp papers will be authenticated which were issued from the account office having proper serial numbers and purchased from the registered vendor with mention of the purpose clearly, he explained.
He said once the issuance of fake stamp papers was stopped people would be rid of false and fake contract deeds, which would help minimise court cases.
