QUETTA: The National Party (NP) would contest the coming general elections on the basis of its performance, said former chief minister of Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch while talking to party workers at its office in Turbat on Friday.

He expressed the hope that the NP would win seats from across Balochistan.

NP central information secretary Jan Buledi, provisional deputy president Mansoor Baloch and other party leaders were present on the occasion.

The former CM claimed that the party-led provincial government had restored peace in the province in a short period of time. “There has been a massive change in Balochistan between 2013 and now,” he added.

He said NP workers must put aside their differences and work collectively for the party’s election campaign.

The former CM claimed that NP was a mainstream political party struggling for the rights of the people of Balochistan.

“Balochistan is facing several challenges. We must put personal agendas aside and look for the interests of the province,” he said.

“The party has always contested elections against the King’s party. Its workers have proved that they can defend the rights of the people through an honest struggle,” he said. He urged party workers to improve their relations with the public through better communication.
