MANY parts of the country are witnessing a severe heat wave these days. The country’s financial capital, Karachi in particular has been suffering the most with the tempreature hovering in the 40s for almost a week now.
In this respect I would like to draw the attention of city government officials and the provincial authorities to people suffering from heat strokes in Karachi.
A heat stroke results from prolonged exposure to high temperature. It can kill or cause damage to the brain and other internal organs.
The long hours of electricity breakdown and lack of adequate water supply are the two most important issues that need to be resolved immediately. The long-term solution is to plant more trees and designate more green areas all over the city.
