ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court issued notices to eight television channels on Monday for violating its order regarding Ramazan programmes.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui had last week ordered television channels to stop broadcasting game shows and substandard infotainment during Ramazan.

But on Monday, a petitioner moved a contempt of court petition saying that certain TV channels were running programmes in sheer violation of the court order.

Justice Siddiqui issued notices to anchorpersons and the TV channels concerned. He adjourned further hearing to Wednesday.
