RAWALPINDI: Two teenagers drowned in a pond in Morgah area while a person was shot and injured by two robbers in Saddar on Monday, police said.

Adnan Zafar, 19, and his friend Alam Zaib, 16, residents of Morgah, left their homes for some errands.

As they were passing through DHA Phase IV, they spotted a pond and decided to take a dip to cool themselves.

Police said as they stepped into the pond, they lost balance and drowned.

Later, their bodies were fished out from the pond and handed over to their families.

Separately, a man was shot and injured by robbers.

Police said Malik Shaukat, a resident of Taxila, and his family had come to Rawalpindi for Eid shopping. As he parked his car on Kashmir Road, two men on a motorcycle held him at gunpoint.

They threatened him and demanded his wallet and mobile phone.

When he resisted, they opened fire. However, the robbers managed to escape with the wallet.

The injured was taken to a hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
