ALMATY: Pakistan crushed Chinese Taipei, recording a straight sets win in their match of the FIVB World Challenger Cup Qualification Continental Tournament on Friday.

Pakistan won 25-22, 26-24, 25-19, avenging their defeat to Chinese Taipei at the last Asian Senior Men’s Championship at Surabaya, Indonesia, and will next play hosts Kazakhstan on Saturday.

It was a complete performance from Pakistan with Aimal Khan, Murad Jehan and Mubashar Raza’s quick spiking causing their opponents all sorts of trouble while Mubashar Raza and libero Nasir blocking the attacks.

Coach Hamid Movahedi also deserves credit for Pakistan’s strong performance especially with the team having gone on a tour of Turkey before this event.

Victory for the team in the Kazakhstan tournament will see Pakistan host another qualification tournament which will see participation from four to five South American countries to decide the teams which qualify for the World Challenger Cup.
