LAHORE: The winners registered easy victories to enter the semi-final of the 1st Chief Minister Punjab National Women Squash Championship Senior and Junior events at the Punjab Squash Complex here on Saturday.

All the quarter-final were decided rather easily.

In the senior section, Zoya Khalid of Army defeated Punjab’s Shafaq Chaudhry 11-2, 11-2, 11-3 in just 15 minutes.

Rushna Mehboob of Army also excelled against Bushra Khalid of Punjab and she looked in hurry and wrapped up the match in just 14 minutes with a scoreline of 11-1, 11-0, 11-1.

Two remaining semi-finalists are all from Wapda, while ensuring gruelling pre-final clashes between Army and Wapda on Sunday.

Riffat Khan breezed past Kulsoom Bibi of Punjab 11-1, 11-3, 11-1 in only 11 minutes.

Saima Shaukat of Wapda, however, lost some points before toppling Tehrima Islam of Sindh 11-6, 11-4, 11-5 in 17 minutes In the under-19 girls’ category, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) dominated by winning three of the quarter-finals. Noor-ul-Huda needed only 12 minutes to brush aside Punjab’s Syeda Shahbano 11-0, 11-0, 11-1.
