MARDAN: A two-day science festival would be held at the Mardan Sports Complex here on May 9 and 10.

The event is being organised by the district government in collaboration with Taleemi Jirga under the supervision of Alif Ailaan and Pakistan Alliance for Maths and Science to explore the capabilities of students with regard to science and technology, according to a press release issued on Friday.

To make the event fruitful, the students and teachers were asked to ensure their availability along with their inventions and unique discoveries pertaining to daily living sciences for display at the festival.

The district government would give away competition and encouragement awards to the distinctive students.

The press release said active participation of skilled students would prove valuable for socioeconomic development of common people.

The science festival is the first of its kind in the whole Peshawar Valley and second in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The students who plan unique discoveries and inventions will be financed by the district government for further improvement of their models.
