MULTAN, May 22: A plumber died of suffocation while three others fell unconscious, reportedly because of gas leakage in a well of a dry-cleaning plant at Bomanjee Chowk on Sunday. Civil Defence Officer Shahid Pervaiz toldDawn that plumber Muhammad Ahmad, 30, died on the spot, while three people, including two staff members of the dry-cleaning shop fell unconscious because of the leakage.

The injured were identified as Majeed, Kashif and Fiaz. They were rushed to the Nishter Hospital, where they were said to be stable after getting emergency treatment.

KILLED: A motorcyclist was killed when hit by a bus on Khanewal road.

Police said that Muhammad Iqbal was returning home from the Wapda Colony when the bus (LR-1455) coming from opposite direction hit him. He died on the spot.

The driver managed to flee from the scene while the police had impounded the bus.
