PESHAWAR, May 21: A leader of the Pakistan People’s Party in Yakatoot, Mohammad Karim Khan, on Saturday appealed to the NWFP chief minister to order registration of a case against some people who, he said, were threatening him as they wanted to occupy his land in Gulbahar Colony.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club, Karim Khan alleged that the members of the land mafia had got fake documents from the area patwari to support their illegal ownership.

He said he had informed revenue and anti-corruption departments’ officials about the situation but some of them were allegedly supporting the land grabbers.

He said the gang had asked him to pay them Rs2 million and threatened to kill his sons if he did not do so.

He said members of the gang were harassing him and his family but the Yakatoot police were not registering a case against them.

He alleged that the gang had been involved in land grabbing, kidnapping for ransom and car theft in Kotwali, Sharqi, Gharbi and cantonment areas for many years.

Mr Khan appealed to the president, the prime minister, the NWFP chief minister and the provincial police chief to provide him justice. He said if any member of his family was attacked, the local police officials would be responsible.
