NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Two lawyers went missing while returning to their hometown, Khairpur, from Karachi by a car sometime during the night intervening Monday and Tuesday. Their families claimed that they were kidnapped but could not comment further on the kidnapping or its motive.

Syed Jaffar Ali Shah and Agha Imran Pathan are members of the Khairpur District Bar Association.

According to police, the car they were travelling in was found abandoned at the Kandiaro section of the National Highway.

Their families informed the Kandiaro police that the last telephonic contact with them was made at 10.30pm.

Shaheed Benazirabad DIG Ahmed Yar Chauhan and Naushahro Feroze SSP Imran Qureshi visited the place where the car was found parked and ordered collection of CCTV footage from the nearby landmarks to ascertain facts. Fingerprints were also collected from the car by a team of experts called from Larkana.

The legal fraternity of Khairpur and Naushahro Feroze expressed its concern over the incident and called for the victims’ safe recovery at the earliest.
