SARGODHA: A rare demonstration of precision, courage and flying skill was staged by the ace pilots of Pakistan Air Force at the historic airbase of Sargodha this morning [April 15].

The display, performed jointly and individually, of three of the famous supersonic planes — the MIG-19, F-104, and Mirage-III — was witnessed among others, by Gen A.M. Yahya Khan, Army Commander-in-Chief; Lt Gen A. Hamid; Air Marshal Nur Khan, Air Vice-Marshal S.A. Yusaf, and hundreds of other high-ranking army and air force officials, and earned repeated ovations from all of them.

The men in the cockpit of the three supersonic fighter-bombers — Air Commodore Z.A. Chowdhury, Wing Commander M.M. Alam, and Sq-Ldr Arif Iqbal — performed hair-raising feats to make it one of the most memorable spectacles. Wing Commander Alam, piloting the new PAF addition, the French Mirage-III, exhibited some of the finest

points of the flying skill and complete mastery of one of the most modern aircraft in the world.
