KARACHI, May 20: Two persons died in road traffic accidents in different parts of the city on Friday. In Ferozabad, a 60-year-old man died while crossing Tipu Sultan Road.

Police said Muhammad Husain was hit by a speeding car (ADN-781). He was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, but reportedly died on the way. Police arrested the driver identified as Siraj Ahmed.

In Clifton, a young man was knocked down by a dumper. A duty officer of the Clifton police station said that Muhammad Javed, 35, was on his motorcycle when a speeding dumper knocked him down close to Schon Circle. The wounded man was taken to the JPMC where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

ARRESTED: Police on early Friday morning picked up a police commando from Razzakabad Police Training College for his suspected links with Rehman Dakait.

Sources close to the Industrial Crime Unit said that the police official had been identified as Muhammad Amin of the Elite Force. Police had recovered some evidence from the White House — the alleged residence of Rehman Dakait in Hub — suggesting that Muhammad Amin might have some links with the notorious gang leader.

Sources said there was a group of such policemen who were passing on sensitive information to Rehman. More arrests might soon take place, they added.
