Art and fashion fest starts today at GIK Institute

PESHAWAR: All Pakistan Art and Fashion Festival will begin at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Swabi, today (Saturday).

Organised by the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the three-day event will showcase various programmes and activities, including theatre dramas, art exhibition, paintings competition, fashion show, etc to entertain the visitors and hone different skills of students.

According to the programme, theatre dramas will be presented on the first day of the event besides paintings competition by the participants.

Fashion show will be held on the second day where models featuring different cultural and traditional dresses will walk on the ramp. Fine arts competitions are also part of the festival in which students of various institutions from across the country will participate.

A competition of paintings of the scenic Beer Gali located in Swabi district will be the last segment of the event.

In-charge events, Hassina Shaukat, said that the festival would be the best opportunity for the students and visitors to interact with each other and learn about the culture, traditions, scenic places and other aspects of life in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She said that the event would help increase the knowledge of students about the people and places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
