QUETTA: Pakistan Day was celebrated across Balochistan like other parts of the country on Friday with traditional zeal where the provincial government, Frontier Corps (FC), political parties and civil society organised various programmes to express their love for the country.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo in a video message said: “We all have to get united against our common enemies and play our role in the progress of Pakistan.”

At a ceremony organised by Frontier Corps, Ghazaband Scouts, children performed on national songs. Ghazaband Scouts Commandant Col Rab Nawaz said: “Following the footsteps of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and elders, we can lead the country towards prosperity.”

He added Pakistan had been fighting against terrorism and security forces with the support of the masses were close to purge terrorism from Pakistan.

A rally under the banner of Long Live Pakistan (Pakistan Zindabad Rally) was organised in Kuchlak city where a large number of citizens marched on various streets with patriotic slogans. Pakistan Day rallies and other programmes were also held in Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Dalbandin, Chagai, Gwadar, Turbat, Awaran, Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Zhob, Ziarat and other towns of Balochistan.

Earlier on Thursday, a flag measuring approximately 300 x 200 feet, located 5,577 feet above the sea level, was raised in Kohlu.
