PESHAWAR: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Senator Sirajul Haq has said that there is no room for judicial martial law in the country and that his party rejected dictatorship in every form.

Speaking at the concluding session of a two-day youth festival here on Friday, he thanked Chief Justice of Supreme Court Justice Mian Saqib Nisar for rejecting speculations about imposition of judicial martial law in the country.

Mr Haq said that martial law was unacceptable in any form and people of Pakistan believed in democracy. He said that Pakistan came into being in the name of Islam and people would not accept secular system.

He said youths played lead role during Pakistan Movement and laid down their lives for an independent Islamic state.

He said JI would provide jobs to youths if it came to power after the next general elections. Mr Haq said that a few feudal and capitalist elements had established their monopoly in the country, looting national wealth.
