LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Wednesday sealed three fast food points, one milk shop and tobacco corner and imposed a fine of Rs150,000.

The fast food points were sealed in Emporium Mall in Johar Town for using poor quality products and a milk point for adulteration in Nishtar Town for using blue drums.

Teams sealed a tobacco shop for selling banned tobacco product (guttka) and seized 600 sachets of it. In another visit, teams stopped a frozen food company in the Sundar Industrial Estate from production.

The teams also raided places in Johar Town, Manawan, Samnabad, Ferozepur Road, Mozang, Mughalpura, Thokar Niaz Baig, Gulberg, Tajpura and Sabzazar and fined four food sellers Rs150,000.

Elsewhere, teams closed 15 outlets and fined Rs497,000 on 65 food outlets. Up to 300 outlets were served with notices.

Five food points were sealed in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala each, one in Sargodha and Multan, and three ice factories in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Teams also confiscated 3,617 tea-whitener packets, 500kg adulterated food products, 60kg meat, 65kg sweets, adulterated milk, drinks, non-food grade colour and other items.
