KARACHI: Sindh women softball team outclassed Balochistan by 11 runs in third place play-off clash in the softball event to claim a bronze medal in 4th Inter-Provincial Games underway in KPK on Monday at Mardan Sports Complex.

Sindh performed well and put on board 19 runs in its five innings. Captain Urooj Wazir Ali scored three runs while Ayesha Ishtiaq, Bushra Javed, Mahnoor, Adina Hasan, Carol Gill and Tulsi Meghwar scored one run each.

In reply, Balochistan team managed to score only eight runs out of its five innings. Bibi Zara, Nabiha and Zarina Bibi scored two runs each.

In round matches, Punjab defeated Balochistan by 15-1 score.

In a thrilling match between Sindh and KPK, the latter record a four-run victory and qualified for the final. KPK scored 12 runs while Sindh managed eight runs in the match.

Punjab and KPK will vie for top honors today (Tuesday) in the summit clash. Meanwhile, Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) President Haider Khan Lehri lauded Sindh team for its fine performance and announced a cash prize of Rs 30,000 for the team.
