Two Islamabads

Published March 19, 2018

ISLAMABAD has been divided into two parts, one for haves and the other for have-nots. The latter part has all civic amenities. Islamabad’s southern areas start from Faizabad leading to Rawat.

People’s miseries are compounded by traffic jams at the bridge of the Judicial Colony, Toot stop, Lohi Bheer, Kak Pul and Rawat Bazar. Interchanges and overhead pedestrian bridges are needed at above mentioned points.

The three bridges at the Judicial Colony, Naval Anchorage, Ripah Hospital and Kak Pul should be widened to ease traffic. Otherwise claim of signal-free corridor by the present government is meaningless.

From Faizabad to Rawat, there are no government hospitals. People fall ill and private hospitals operating in these localities mint money.

However, it is good to see Al-Khidmat, Ripah International and Sache Clinic helping the needy people of these areas, although they offer limited facilities. From Faizabad to Rawat, there are no colleges. Consequently our youth are deprived of higher education. Water extraction in a big way is a problem. There is no water regulation at all.

If one needs to mint money all he should do is to install a tube well and start water supply. Where is Islamabad mayor?
