TIMERGARA: Awami National Party leader Zahid Khan on Saturday said that political parties were admitting that horse-trading was committed

in the Senate elections, but the Supreme Court had kept silence on the matter.

Talking to reporters in Odigram here, the ANP candidate for National Assembly seat from Lower Dir, accused PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari of being involved in horse-trading.

He said leaders of different parties had been demanding of the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu action on the alleged horse-trading but he had kept silence on the matter.

He said the Election Commission of Pakistan could not probe the matter on its own.

About the delimitation of constituencies he said all political parties had expressed reservations over them, and asked the ECP to conduct a survey before finalising the delimitation of constituencies.

ONE KILLED: A youth was killed while eight others were injured in different incidents, residents and police said.

They said Zeeshan, 18, a resident of Adenzai tehsil, was killed while his father and brother were injured when an electricity pole they were erecting hit a transmission line at Mian Brangola on Friday evening.

Similarly, five persons were injured when four vehicles hit each other at Ashari Gat on Saturday. Police said all the vehicles were part of a wedding ceremony and the accident occurred due to over-speeding.

The injured were taken to district headquarters hospital, Timergara, where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

A 10th grader identified as Abdullah of Barawal area of Upper Dir was critically injured when he fell from the roof of a school the other day.
