ISLAMABAD: Pakistan players after excelling in the recently-held Qatar Junior Open also dominated the Doha Junior Squash Championship being staged in the Qatari capital.

Carrying on the winning streak, they seized the titles of all age groups (U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19) at the championship, said a press release issued here on Friday.

The prize distribution ceremony of Qatar and Doha Junior Squash Championships was held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex Doha, where Saad Al Mohannadi, president of the Qatar Squash Federation, awarded trophies to the winners.

Players from Pakistan, India, Qatar, Egypt, Malaysia, Jordan, Ireland, US and Iran participated in the championship. Mohammad Ammad of Pakistan outclassed his opponent Usman Nadeem 11-7, 6-11, 11-4, 11-6 in the U-13 final lasting 34 minutes.

Junaid Khan, another Pakistani, clinched the U-15 title beating Karam Jamal of Jordan 11-6, 11-6, 5-11, 6-11, 11-9 in the final that continued for 42 minutes.

In the U-17 decider, Farhan Hashmi of Pakistan overpowered his team-mate Uzair Shaukat 11-8, 8-11, 11-6, 11-6 in 45 minutes.

The U-19 title was also grabbed by Pakistan when Abbas Zeb defeated compatriot Uzair Rasheed 11-6, 14-12, 6-11, 11-9 in a 50-minute final.
