TANDO JAM: Zila Benazirabad defeated Mirpurkhas District 4-3 on penalty kicks in a well contested opening game of the All Sindh Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup Inter-district Hockey tour­n­ament which commenced here on Saturday at the Agricultural University ground.

Both teams displayed high quality hockey and the match remained tied at 0-0 at the end of the regular time. In the penalty kicks awarded to both teams, Zila Benazirabad prevailed over Mirpurkhas 4-3.

Earlier, chief guest and sports organiser Ghulam Mohammad hit a ball to inaugurate the tournament which has sixteen teams from the universities and other institutions of Sindh participating in it.

Also present on the occasion was Anwar Hussain Khanzada, Director Sports of Agriculture University Tando Jam which has organized this tournament in collaboration with Sports Youth Affairs, Sindh.
